A housing authority engaged the company I was working for to create a neighborhood on what up until now has been called a neighborhood of older mobile homes just North of downtown.
This neighborhood presents many challenges and opportunities as it is an established social community in need of new shelter. The design team ran and participated in a number of public forums to explore options on preferred housing types and community features. The solution, includes a pedestrian friendly mix of single family and row home style living scenarios with a public park and community area at the center to hold community day-care, classes, and parties. My role in this rewarding project has included participation in the design charrette, design development of different site structures and various site patterning under the supervision of Senior Architects, renderings and print communications with clients, and space planning both within the small footprint homes and in the public spaces. | Neighborhood Remodel :: Affordable Housing :: Boulder, Colorado |
